WordWrangle field guide
How to Play
Worduel
- Each player secretly chooses a valid five-letter word.
- Take turns guessing the opponent's word.
- The score is how many letters the words share; positions do not matter.
- Guess the exact word to win. Sharing every letter is not enough — STEER vs TREES scores 5 and still misses.
Repeated letters
A letter counts only as many times as it appears in both words.
ARRAY vs CAIRN → 2
ARRAY vs APART → 3
An isogram has no repeated letters, such as BRICK. Isograms can be easier to reason about, but they are not required here.
Ghost
- Players add one letter to a shared fragment.
- Completing a dictionary word of four or more letters makes you lose.
- Bluffing with a fragment that leads nowhere is allowed.
- On your turn, challenge if you think the previous player bluffed.
Draw & Guess
- Each player draws one secret prompt.
- The other player types guesses while the sketch appears live.
- A correct guess earns 100 points, minus 10 per wrong guess, with a 50-point minimum.
- The drawer earns 50 points when the prompt is guessed. Highest score after two rounds wins.
Wordweave
- Build a word of at least four letters from your seven-letter stream.
- The opening word must cross the center heart; later words must join the living weave.
- Every word formed across, down, or diagonally must be in the lexicon.
- If nothing in your stream fits, swap the whole stream or pass. Either spends the turn and scores nothing.
- Longer and rarer-letter words score more. The high score wins after 18 turns, or four scoreless turns in a row.
Ghost variants
Add only to the end; the fragment must be a word prefix.
Add to either end; the fragment may appear anywhere inside a word.
Insert anywhere; the fragment's letters must occur in order inside a possible word.
Matches and fairness
- Practice against WordBot is free and never changes ratings.
- Private games are accessible only through their invitation link.
- Rematches require both players and never copy the old wager.
- Worduel turns allow five minutes; Ghost turns allow two minutes.
- Running out of time awards the match to your opponent.
- Guests can play everything; only their results stay off the leaderboard.
Pinpoint
- Read the location clue and explore the map before committing.
- Place your pin only when you are satisfied; a locked answer cannot be moved.
- Distance determines your score, up to 5,000 points per round.
- The higher total after five rounds wins.
- Play solo against WordBot at three accuracies, or against a friend on a private link.
Trivia
- Read the clue, then lock one of the four responses. A locked answer cannot be changed.
- A correct response is worth the clue's dollar value; a wrong one scores nothing and costs nothing.
- Neither answer is revealed until both players have locked, so nobody can follow the other.
- Both players continue before the next clue, and the higher total after the last one wins.
- Play solo at your own pace, duel WordBot at three accuracies, or challenge a friend on a private link.
Board tables
Each table shows its objective, pace, current player, and legal actions. Select a piece or space first; highlighted destinations are the moves you can make. Open the in-game rules before your first turn for variant-specific scoring and end conditions.

Choose a table by family, then use Practice for a no-pressure first hand. Your table always identifies the active player and available actions; unavailable actions explain their requirement when you focus or hover them.
