How to play Lamplight Euchre
Be the first team to 10 points
Twenty-four cards, nine to ace, five each. One card is turned up: order it up to make its suit trump (the dealer takes it and buries a card) or pass. If all four pass, name any other suit or pass again; the dealer must name one. The jack of trump is the highest card, the other jack of the same colour next. Follow suit if you can. The maker may go alone and sit their partner out.
The making side scores 1 for three or four tricks and 2 for all five, 4 if alone. Take fewer than three and the other side scores 2 for the euchre. First team to 10 wins.
